Scientists create 'artificial embryos'

Scientists in Cambridge have created a functioning mouse embryo from two types of stem cell and a 3D bio-scaffold. It's the first time anything like this has been done.

The researchers hope it will help shed light on human embryo development and why so many pregnancies fail in the early stages. Simon Fishel, founder and president of Care Fertility, told the Today programme it is a very exciting development.
