US surgeon explains pig kidney-human transplant test
US surgeons say they have successfully transplanted the kidney of a genetically modified pig into a brain-dead human.
The two-hour operation took place at the New York University Langone Health medical centre and, according to experts, is the most advanced experiment in the field so far.
Lead investigator, Dr Robert Montgomery, explains the procedure.
