Austin aims to be big player in music recording business

For years, Austin has been known for music festivals such as SXSW and concert venues up and down the Texas capital. In the 1990s, city officials approved the label "live music capital of the world" as the city's moniker.

Now the Texas capital wants to become the fourth big player in the music recording business, behind industry leaders New York, Los Angeles and Nashville.

At the forefront of this push are the owners and operators of Arlyn Studios. Supported by musician Willie Nelson and built by his nephew in 1984, the studio recently reopened its doors to commercial business after a 10-year hiatus.

The nephew, Freddy Fletcher, and his wife Lisa have renovated and refurbished the studio along with two new co-owners.
