The world's best chefs would undoubtedly argue that their plates of food are like works of art.
But one food historian makes her living creating artworks that are also edible - from chocolate skulls and marzipan bees to frankincense sweets.
Tasha Marks runs boutique food company Animal Vegetable Mineral, external, creating unusual - and tasty - sculptures for parties, corporate events and festivals.
She gets much of her inspiration from historical cookbooks, putting a very modern spin on some of the recipes she finds.
BBC News went to meet her to find out more.
