The family circus troupe aged between two and 66

Performing in the circus is a family affair for 66-year-old grandfather and amateur clown Alain Carabinier.

He is joined by his two children and two-year-old grandson in Cirque Alfonse, a troupe from Quebec, Canada, who are making their UK debut.

Alain's children Antoine and Julie are a trained circus acrobat and a trained dancer respectively - and Julie's young son Arthur also takes part in the show, which combines balancing acts, acrobats, and juggling with sharpened axes.

Grandmother Louise also came out of retirement to look after the company finances and act as babysitter for Arthur when the family is on tour.

Antoine and Alain spoke to BBC News about what it is like to work together as a family.

Their show Timber! is showing at the Southbank Centre in London until the end of July.
