An artist's journey to paint watercolours of Guantanamo Bay

In art, sometimes it's what you don't see that's important.

For Steve Mumford, a contemporary American painter, his journey to Guantanamo Bay represented challenges and unexpected opportunities for his work.

The US military allowed him to sketch some of the prison grounds but not the detainees held there.

An exhibit of these watercolour sketches called "The Snow Leopard" is currently on display at the Postmasters Gallery in New York City.
