New handgun marketed at Indian women

A handgun designed for women has been launched in India, as a tribute to the victim of a fatal gang-rape in Delhi.

The "Nirbheek", which means "fearless", is lighter and easier to use, say the manufacturers, and will help women protect themselves.

But critics say it is an insult to the memory of the 23-year-old student, who was nicknamed Nirbhaya.

The Indian Ordinance Factory showed the BBC the gun.
