Pope Francis: What do Americans think of pontiff?

One year ago the world got a new head of the Catholic Church - and Pope Francis has made big waves in the past 12 months.

He's been lauded for being a man of the people, and criticised for his critiques of capitalism.

The Pew Research Center has polled Americans to find out just what they think of the pontiff, and they give him generally good marks.

Both Catholics and non-Catholics think he represents a major shift in the Church, but many are still disappointed by his handling of sex abuse scandals.
