Getty's 'Lean In' stock photos challenge female stereotypes
The images are familiar. Scantily clad women holding power tools or sitting behind secretaries' desks have become the norm in stock photo databases used in the media.
But now Getty Images has joined LeanIn.org, a non-profit founded by Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg, to try to change the way women are portrayed.
They have released a collection of photos that challenge these stereotypes and offer a more empowered vision of modern women and girls.
The BBC spoke to Pamela Grossman, director of visual trends at Getty Images, and Jessica Bennett, an editor for LeanIn.org.
