Snail farmer lifts lid on the colony in her spare bedroom

Would you eat a snail? And would you grow your own snails before you ate them?

Helen Howard started a snail farm in her spare bedroom and allotment in Canterbury, Kent, seven years ago.

She says snails have been growing in popularity as a delicacy, as people travel and eat out more.

Helen has even started courses for people who want to learn to farm their own snails, as part of the "grow your own food" movement.

BBC News joined Helen Howard on her snail farm to learn what goes into cultivating her own brand of slow food.
