Lady's got a gun: Photos of Texas women and their firearms
Whether it's the image of the cowboy or the armed soldier, guns are often associated with men.
Shelley Calton challenges that assumption in her new book, Concealed: She's Got a Gun - a series of photographs showing Texan women, and their firearms.
Growing up around guns, Calton was taught to shoot at an early age.
As an adult she learned a different kind of shooting - and became a photographer. In "Concealed", Calton says she wants to highlight the significance of guns in the everyday lives of Texas women, and their experiences as concealed carriers.
