Leeds festival had 'a hell of a battle' to launch

Reading and Leeds festival organiser, Melvin Benn, says there was a "hell of a battle" to launch the event in north east England.

He explains that there was trouble with V festival when they wanted to start Leeds festival near the site.

He also says his highlights over the years have included Green Day and Blink 182 performing on the main stage and seeing people coming from all over the country and enjoying themselves.

Melvin was talking to Newsbeat's music reporter Sinead Garvan at Leeds festival.
