'Breast cancer took my mum and sister'

As Newsbeat continues to follow 1Xtra presenter Claira Hermet in the run up to her double mastectomy, the 27-year-old explains how breast cancer has affected her family.

Both her mum and sister died from it.

Doctors have told Claira she too has inherited a gene which means there is an 85% chance she will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.

"One way I do not want to die is of breast cancer," she says.

Claira is due to have surgery in January.

Newsbeat will track her over the next few weeks. She will also be the focus of a documentary for BBC Radio 1 Stories, due to be broadcast later in 2015.
