Shuttle Endeavour launches on its final mission to ISS

The US shuttle Endeavour has launched on its final mission, which will see it haul a $2bn particle physics experiment to the International Space Station.

Endeavour soared into a bright morning sky over the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Thousands of people watched the launch, including Endeavour commander Mark Kelly's wife, Gabrielle Giffords, the politician shot by a gunman in January.
