Rare leopards in Arabian Wildlife Centre

Hana Saif Al Suwaidi is chair of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, UAE.

As well as being the first female to fill the role she has a passion for the indigenous animals of the Arabian Peninsula.

She joined the Arabian Wildlife Centre when it first opened in order to protect threatened species. She has particularly championed close relationships with nearby countries so as to create the conditions that are needed for the release of the Arabian leopards that have been bred in captivity.
