Shark fins and ivory discovered in Hong Kong

Hong Kong authorities have made a seizure of more than a metric ton of elephant tusks from Africa, worth more than £860,000 ($1.4 million) on the illegal ivory market.

It is the third shipment that has been confiscated in three months and comes as traders laid thousands of shark fins out to dry on the rooftop of a building, sparking anger from activists.

Conservationists say the fins, destined to be used legally in shark fin soup, were placed on the roof, out of the sight of tourists.
