Could a tree injection help fight ash dieback and other tree diseases infecting our forests?
At a trial site in Northamptonshire a prototype is being tested - a fungicide, derived from garlic, is injected directly into a tree and travels in the sap system to target every area.
While a blanket use is impractical and expensive - it could potentially help save special historic trees, or trees with sentimental value.
