Why did Beagle2 never make radio contact with earth?

Beagle2, the missing Mars robot, has been found by scientists after it failed to to make contact with earth following its touchdown in 2003.

Prof Mark Sims, from the University of Leicester, said high-resolution images taken from orbit have identified its landing location, and it looks to be in one piece.

Many had assumed that the probe had been destroyed on impact.

Professor Sims said there were many reasons why Beagle2 failed to transmit and it was "most probably a bad luck scenario".
