Researchers in Switzerland have designed virtual worlds for crime scene investigators to "enter".

The system builds up an accurate impression of the site of a crime using data from the location and victims' bodies.

Investigators then experience the virtual version of the scene by wearing an immersive headset.

The device displays a 3D image which moves as the wearer changes position in a room.
