The hunters who campaign against lead shot
About 100,000 wetland birds are killed every year from poisoning by discarded lead ammunition in Britain, according to a report published on Thursday.
In Denmark, the use of lead shot has been illegal since 1996, creating a 20 year test of legislation that some conservationists are now pushing for in Britain. Danish biologist and hunter Niels Kanstrup believes the ban has been beneficial to hunting as well as to the environment.
Here, he explains to BBC News why hunting and conservation go hand in hand.
