Visiting the chasm cutting off an Antarctic base

BBC Weather's Peter Gibbs recently returned to the British Antarctic Survey's Halley Research Station, 36 years after he first went there as a young meteorologist.

There, on "a day with no horizon", he explored the chasm threatening to cast the base adrift.
