Helen Sharman: 'Don't let Tim Peake be our last astronaut'

The first Briton in space says the UK needs to keep funding space travel or risk Tim Peake being its last astronaut.

On the 25th anniversary of her mission to the Mir Space Station, Helen Sharman told that BBC she didn't know if the public realise there are currently no plans for another British astronaut to leave earth.

She also shared her memories of her ground-breaking flight.
