Genetically-modified foods are safe to eat, say scientists

Genetically-modified food is safe to eat - that's the verdict of a high-powered group of scientists.

After studying hundreds of pieces of research over the last two decades, their report has dismissed claims that GM food is not fit for human consumption.

GM crops are not currently grown commercially in the UK, but imported products like soya are used for animal feed.
