Fearnley-Whittingstall on ivory trade 'ban'
There should be a total ban selling ivory that cannot be verified as antique, according to chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, who has been investigating the trade for a new documentary.
Trading ivory is only legal if it is classified as an antique which is more than 70 years old but the UK government is expected to tighten the rules in coming days.
Mr Fearnley-Whittingstall tells Today programme presenter Nick Robinson that illegal ivory gets mixed into legal ivory "very quickly" in the global market.
