Sir David Attenborough polar ship: It's even got a coffee shop
Britain's new polar research ship is named after the famous broadcaster and naturalist Sir David Attenborough.
This is the vessel that the British public had previously voted to call "Boaty McBoatface" in an online poll, before ministers stepped in to end the joke.
The 130 metre-long, 15,000-tonne "floating science lab" is going to study the Arctic and Antarctica.
She is an icebreaker and will be able to plough through 1m-thick sea ice at three knots (3.5mph/5.5km/h).
