Bletchley Park computer museum homes veteran robot George
Former spycatcher and RAF officer Tony Sale built a working robot shaped like a human in 1950.
George was made from metal salvaged from a crashed bomber aircraft and could steer himself towards an illuminated bottle of beer in his heyday.
He is now being kept at the National Museum of Computing in Bletchley Park, Buckinghamshire.
The aluminium machine is being featured on Wallace and Gromit's World of Invention, which will be broadcast on BBC1 at 1930 GMT on 17 November 2010.
