The smartphone revolution may be concentrated in the world's richer countries, but there are ways of making cheap phones access the services aimed at high end devices.

One such company is Snaptu, which uses apps designed to take up as little memory as possible.

That enables them to work on phones with low processing powers.

Takeup has been highest in the world's poorer countries.

Its European Director, Simon Davies, demonstrates how Snaptu operates.
