NGP: the successor to Sony's PSP is unveiled in Tokyo

Sony has unveiled the Next Generation Portable (NGP) gaming device, the successor to the PlayStation Portable (PSP).

It features an OLED touch panel screen and 3G wireless connectivity and is the first portable games device that allows game, movie and data uploads.

Next month Nintendo will start selling its 3DS handheld device with 3D screen technology.

Sony Computer Entertainment's Shuhei Yoshida and Kaz Hirai demonstrate the NGP's features at the company's strategy briefing event in Tokyo.
