Harvard scientist on his hunt for alien life

Can we build a scientific picture of what an alien life form might actually look like?

This is the task that Professor Dimitar Sasselov has set himself.

He heads a team called the 'Origins of Life' at Harvard University.

He talked to BBC News about how how scientists can begin to paint a picture of the alien, one perhaps quite different to Hollywood's version.
