Blackberry 10: Thorsten Heins's plan to revive RIM

Research in Motion chief executive Thorsten Heins took up his post in January, with many analysts thinking he had been given an impossible task - to revive the fortunes of the Blackberry mobile phone.

Touch-controlled handsets running on Apple and Android operating systems have quickly eroded the Blackberry's market share in the past few years.

Rory Cellan-Jones was given a tour by Mr Heins of Blackberry's latest operating system, Blackberry 10.

To be delivered to market next year, developers are being allowed access to it to create content.

Mr Heins explained why he thinks it has the power to revive his company's ailing fortunes.
