Nod smart ring is a wearable remote control

Ex-Google engineer Anush Elangovan does not lack ambition for his invention, Nod.

The $150 (£89) smart ring lets its wearer use a finger as an input and control device.

The idea is to offer more fluid and natural interactions than alternative gesture technologies, and even voice control software, would permit.

But while the idea of using Nod to air-write messages and open the garage door may appeal to some, the suggestion that it offers the perfect way to read ebooks on TV could prove a harder sell.
