SCiO scanner helps determine what is in your food

Dror Sharon likes to say he carries a supermarket in his pocket.

No, he's not constantly hungry. Rather, he is the co-founder of Consumer Physics, a firm that just unveiled SCiO - a cheap molecular spectrometer.

It claims to be able to read the chemical make-up of food and and objects around us - although some have questioned how accurate, external its readings can be.

Mr Sharon shows the BBC how the device works.
