Astronaut Tim Peake invites Raspberry Pi challenge

UK astronaut Tim Peake has invited school children to suggest digital experiments to be carried out in space.

He will oversee the experiments when he does his six-month visit to the International Space Station (ISS) next year.

He teamed up with the makers of Raspberry Pi, the credit-card sized computer designed to get people coding, to set the challenge.

Two Raspberry Pi computers are planned to be flown to the International Space Station (ISS), and both will be connected to a new "Astro Pi" board, loaded with sensors and gadgets.

Tim Peake spoke to Rory Cellan-Jones about the challenge.
