The 'vomit machine' that helps to fight the norovirus
Researchers at North Carolina State University have created a "vomit machine" to help study the transmission of the norovirus.
The virus can be easily transmitted from one person to another by contact with an infected person, touching contaminated surfaces or through contaminated food or drink.
Symptoms can include nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach pain.
BBC Click's Arfah Farooq spoke to Prof Lee-Ann Jaykus about the difficulties in making the machine.
