How to make Matt Damon walk on Mars

The Martian, in which Matt Damon plays an astronaut stranded on Mars, has grossed over £140 million at the worldwide box office.

The film is based on author Andy Weir's book of the same name and has proved to be a critical as well as commercial success.

Many of the visual effects were completed by London based company MPC.

Al Moloney spoke to Richard Stammers who worked as the Production VFX Supervisor on the film.
