Cyber-attack: ‘Fix is about leadership not money’
Upgrading cyber defences and applying fixes to software is down to leadership rather than finances, the director of Europol Rob Wainwright has told BBC Hardtalk’s Stephen Sackur.
Speaking on Monday, Mr Wainwright said: “It’s frustrating frankly, because in the health sector there have been multiple ransomware attacks, in the Unites States, in Europe for the last two years long before WannaCry came along and so the lessons should have been heeded by now,” he said.
The WannaCry cyber-attack has disrupted IT services across the globe.
