Fugitive businessman Asil Nadir has been remanded on bail at the Old Bailey after his first court appearance on fraud and theft charges.

Mr Nadir returned to the UK last week after 17 years in Cyprus, to face charges relating to the collapse of his Polly Peck empire, which he denies.
