Pope leads prayers in London

Pope Benedict XVI has led a prayer service at St Mary's University College in Twickenham on the opening day of his visit to London.

The Pope paid tribute to the "outstanding contribution" of those who work in education in his address.

He then held an assembly at the college for 3,000 school children.

Later, he will make a speech at Westminster Hall and hold joint prayers with the Archbishop of Canterbury on a day due to be heavy with symbolism.
