Pope voices church abuse scandal 'sorrow'

Pope Benedict XVI has spoken out about the "immense suffering" of the victims of child abuse, and the "shame and humiliation" brought by the scandal.

His public apology was offered during the celebration of Mass at Westminster Cathedral, where he expressed his "deep sorrow" for the "unspeakable crimes" of child abuse within the Catholic Church.
