Protesters march against Pope visit

Thousands of demonstrators have taken to the streets of London to protest against the Pope's visit.

The Protest the Pope event has been organised to highlight his stance on controversial subjects, including the ordination of women, and many are protesting against the sex abuse scandal, and Catholic opposition to contraception.

Prominent atheists Professor Richard Dawkins and Peter Tatchell were amongst the 20,000 people that organisers claimed attended the protest.
