Immigration cap 'may not work', MPs warn

A committee of MPs claims that a temporary cap on skilled immigrants coming to Britain from outside the European Union will have little effect on overall immigration levels.

The government wants to halve net migration, but the Home Affairs Committee says keeping the cap at its present level could lead to a reduction of just one percent.
