Snow travel: 'It's been a pretty horrendous journey'

Snow has continued to cause problems for drivers overnight with 400 lorries stranded on the M25 motorway in Surrey alone.

The Met Office has issued heavy snow warnings for much of the eastern side of Britain and some central areas. There are icy road warnings, and up to 15cm of snow could fall in some parts.

Max Cross and his son were stuck in their car for five hours on the M25, part of a 10 hour round trip from Portsmouth to Gatwick.
