Archive: New British Harrier Jump Jet unveiled

One of Britain's greatest technical achievements, the Harrier Jump Jet, is being retired early, another high profile victim of the defence cuts.

The iconic planes will make their last operational flight at RAF Cottesmore on Wednesday.

Developed from previous vertical take-off planes the Harrier entered service in 1969.
