As many of us have noticed this Christmas, buying a Christmas tree is not cheap. So in these tough times of big cuts to council expenses, the BBC's Newsnight wondered how much local councils were spending on festive cheer. They sent Stephen Smith to find out a little of the spirit of Christmas Present.
