Nimrod decision 'leaves gaps in UK defence'

The decision to scrap the RAF's Nimrod surveillance aircraft will leave "very serious gaps" in the UK's defence capability according to a former defence chief.

In an open letter to the Daily Telegraph, six ex-defence chiefs said interim measures to fill the gap left by the spy planes "fall far short".

Air Vice-Marshal Tony Mason, who wrote the letter to the Telegraph, spoke to the BBC's Ben Brown.
