US President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama arrive in UK

US President Barack Obama has arrived in the UK for a state visit, more than 12 hours ahead of his original schedule.

The White House took the decision to fly the president, together with First Lady Michelle Obama, from Ireland to London early to avoid the risk of volcanic ash forcing cancellation of his entire programme.
