Essex shooting: Police had previous contact with family

Essex police have confirmed there had been previous contact with the family involved in a shooting in Braintree early on Monday.

The woman and two-year-old girl have been identified as Christine Chambers, aged 38, and her daughter Shania.

Assistant Chief Constable Gary Beautridge of Kent and Essex Police said Ms Chambers' other daughter, who raised the alarm, was "extremely brave" in "very traumatic and difficult circumstances".
