Prince Charles's taxpayer funding rises

The Prince of Wales received an extra £298,000 in taxpayer funding last year, official accounts issued by Clarence House show.

Prince Charles also paid an extra £914,000 in tax in the year to 31 March.

The prince's spokesman Paddy Harverson explained the figures, and said Charles and Camilla's overseas trips produce "a great return for the taxpayer".
