Dowler solicitor: Phone hacking allegations are 'distress heaped upon tragedy'
An investigator working for the News of the World newspaper allegedly hacked into the mobile phone of murdered girl Milly Dowler, her family's lawyer has said.
The Dowler family's solicitor Mark Lewis said her parents were told by police that Glenn Mulcaire hacked into her phone while she was missing.
He said the allegations are "distress heaped upon tragedy" for the family.
A News International spokesperson said: "This particular case is clearly a development of great concern and we will be conducting our own inquiries as a result. We will obviously co-operate fully with any police request on this should we be asked."
