UK copyright law to 'be brought in line with reality'

Rules outlawing the transfer of content from CDs or DVDs to MP3 files and computers for personal use are set to be scrapped by the government.

They are part of changes announced by Business Secretary Vince Cable in an official response to the Hargreaves Review of UK copyright law.

The review was intended to identify legislation that has been outdated by technological change.

From the British Library, Mr Cable told the BBC the changes would "bring law in line with reality".
